Raconteurs is a UK based audiobook production and publishing company. We build relationships to deliver excellence in audio production.
Raconteurs evolved from a conversation between a group of British audiobook veterans in a Manhattan café during APAC – the Audio Publishers’ Association Conference in 2018. We discussed why, out of the thousands of books published each year, so few are made into audiobooks. We realised many authors, particularly independent and self-publishing authors, have little idea how to bring their work to a listening audience.
By developing a streamlined and straightforward production process, we help authors easily produce and publish their work in audio, taking the guesswork out of audiobook production.
We take care of every aspect of an audiobook’s creation, taking the author’s wishes into consideration. We handle production planning, scheduling, casting, recording, proofing, editing and mastering – and finally, we ensure that the audiobook is distributed globally, on time and at the quality that the industry demands.
Audiobook creation should be a collaborative process. We achieve this by regular communication with authors and publishers, as well as with our narrators, cover artists, audio proofers, engineers, sound designers and producers.
Authors are encouraged to be actively involved during the planning stage, and are regularly updated throughout production. In this way we forge relationships with everyone involved, becoming their preferred production partner.
Each title is assigned a dedicated production manager who is responsible for assembling the best team for your book and keeping everything on track. This includes casting the right narrator from our pool of carefully vetted voice actors. Click here to find out more about our narration process.
